An emergency warning has been issued for residents in Melbourne's north because of hazardous air quality. Thailand police say the parasailing accident that killed a Perth businessman was caused by negligence. 71 year old Roger Hussey plunged thirty metres to his death after falling out of a harness mid-flight over Phuket. The initial investigation has concluded that the boat skipper and parasail operator were at fault.

Police are claiming a major breakthrough in their investigation into the death of a Melbourne woman after they managed to track down a key witness. Officers have spent the day searching the Macedon Ranges close to where Karen Ristevski's body was found last year. The witness reported seeing a man alone in a car similar to the one owned by the 47 year old.

China has freed one more Crown Resorts employee a day after releasing 10 others who'd been sentenced for illegally promoting gambling. Tao Yin, walked out of a Shanghai detention facility with her friends and security officials.
